It is a beautiful Sunday morn, after early spring snows--a relief to see the sun and feel the warmth of summer to come. a promise of days when getting out from under the covers will be easier and have the reward of coffee outside. My grandson Adrien and i are watching Scooby-doo and deciding how to spend the morning- he wants to go to the local cemetary and take photos- that sounds good. I am working on several new art projects- as usual- some great jewelry- mixed up pieces kind of a diary in a necklace--and cutting up old printed tins for jewelry, and ??. also starting a 1000 journals -journal in honor of my daughter, ariel who died in august. I want this journal to be carrying the thought of "what keeps life worth living" since right now--i ponder that regularly. in 2 weeks i start a job for jet blue- working at home. I want to use this blog to- communicate with other artists-- to process my thoughts about death and life- and to promote my art and web store (which i have ignored since august), well, we are off to the Mount Olivet Cemetary--our version of church!!
i am an artist- mixed media.I work with rediscovered materials. I love to create assemblage and collage art, and I am currently working on a group of fiber pieces. I also spend time creating jewelry from cherished pieces of past jewels, called "Objects of love and devotion". i am certified to instruct in Precious Metal Clay and teach it locally. I also teach kids art at a local non-profit-Bad Dog Rediscovers America.
I have a Flickr site- sister wicked@flickr.com, and an Etsy shoppe broadwayartsalvage@etsy.com.
Visit, communicate, purchase, or suggest.I would love to hear from you! namaste, laurie
